I've been looking around online and lately, with the season turning and school starting up again, I've been seeing these apple-looking cupcakes. I thought I should try my hand at it. I found it pretty easy if you have the right tools. Namely: Ice cream scoop. No fancy tips, no need for ANY piping skills. Just scoop and place on top of the cupcake. I chilled the cupcake for a few minutes in the fridge so that when I dipped the icing into the red sanding sugar the dome shape stays. Just make sure you have enough sanding sugar. To complete the look  I added a pretzel stick and fondant leaf.

so, without further ado, my first try at making apple cupcakes!

Labor Day Weekend

Labor day weekend was spent with the family to celebrate my husband's Aunt's Birthday. And what is a birthday without a cake (actually, cupcakes)?

Strawberry and Chocolate cupcakes, of course. With fondant flowers and chocolate cylinders.

I was actually very excited because I got to use my brand new icing tips and 12 ( of my 600 ct. package) of Cupcake liners. :) I know, someone got a little over excited and ambitious while ordering CC liners. I guess we'll just see how long it'll take us to finish ALL 600 cupcake liners.
